Yolanda
Rodriguez
Aug 28, 1956 — Nov 17, 2024
Yolanda Rosas Rodriguez, born on August 28, 1956, in Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away November 17, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 68. A life lived with kindness, joy, and boundless love, Yolanda was a profoundly generous individual who would do anything to help those she loved.
Yolanda was a devoted mother to her son, Jesse Aurelio Moreno Jr., whom she had with her former husband, Jesse Moreno Sr. Their union, which lasted from 1976 to 1993, was blessed with the joy of family. Jesse and his wife Diana brought four wonderful grandsons into Yolanda's life: Dominic, Alexander, Lucas, and Rowan. Her grandsons were not just her family but the light of her life. She found immense delight in cheering them on during their football and soccer games, and perhaps her favorite pastime was showering them with toys and snacks.
When she wasn't spending time with her grandsons, Yolanda liked to crochet and watch movies. She also enjoyed hosting her siblings and friends and always had room for one more in her apartment. She loved listening to music and dancing, and would always let her grandsons play her record player when they visited. No matter how loud they turned the music, she would always just laugh and clap while they danced in her living room.
Predeceased by her mother, Rosa Rosas Aguirre, her father Francisco Rodriguez Sr., and her brother Francisco Rodriguez Jr., Yolanda is survived by a loving family: her step father Samuel Aguirre, siblings Francisco Rodriguez, Irma Celaya, Rebecca Rodriguez, Dora Ponce, Johnny Rodriguez, Rosie Aguirre, and Samuel Aguirre as well as her son, daughter-in-law and her grandsons.
A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at 6:00 PM at Eternity Funeral Home.
Memorial Service for Yolanda will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 25, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish North Campus, with burial to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, under the care of Eternity Funeral Home.
Yolanda always encouraged those around her to have faith. In remembering her encouragement to us, we are reminded of 2 Corinthians 4:18, which says
"So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever."
We are grateful to her for the love she showed, the time she gave and everything she shared. We will cherish the memories we have and always be reminded to have faith and to live and love generously as she did.
