Obituary

Socorro Arzate de Leyva at 77 years of Fort Stockton TX, passed away on Sunday, January 12th, 2025, in Fort Stockton, Texas.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11am to 8pm on Thursday, January 16, 2025, with a Rosary recited at 7pm at Eternity Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 17, 2025, in Fort Stockton, TX at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish - St Joseph's Catholic Church with Deacon Danny Holguin officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Eternity Funeral Home.

Socorro Arzate was born in Manuel Benavidez, Chihuahua Mexico to Ramiro Arzate and Eustolia Valenzuela on May 9, 1947. She was married to Juan Leyva for 57 years and along with her husband, enjoyed watching their grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. Socorro was a very classy, generous, charismatic hard-working woman who liked to cook bake and garden. She had a devotion to her faith and was very accommodating to everyone's needs! In her younger years she helped care for the elderly and was very passionate about her job. Flowers were also very pleasing to her and brought great joy.

Socorro Arzate is proceeded in death by her parents, Ramiro Arzate and Eustolia Valenzuela. Her husband Juan Leyva and her great-granddaughter Leilah Hernandez. Her sisters Ofelia Arzate and Margarita Arzate.

Socorro Leyva is survived by her children Juan Leyva (Nora Leyva), Melva Reyes (Lorenzo Reyes), Jorge Leyva (Blanca Leyva), Miriam Tarin (Severo Tarin), Julio Leyva (Diabilet Leyva), Brothers and sisters, Raul Arzate, Manuel Arzate, Antonio Arzate, Jesus Arzate, Ramiro Arzate, Jose Arzate, Elsa Gomez, Julia Arzate, Laura Galindo, Patricia Enseñad, Elvira Benavidez, Maria Arzate, 12 Grandchildren and 21 Great-Grandchildren.

The Pallbearers will be John Leyva, Irvin Tarin, Derek Leyva, Julian Leyva, Allan Leyva, Nathan Hernandez, Isaias Caballero, Giovanni Hernandez.

The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words and support during this difficult time. We deeply appreciate your sympathy; it will always be remembered by the family of Socorro Leyva.
