Oscar Covos of Presidio, TX, was called home on Sunday, April 10, 2022, in Fort Stockton, TX at the age of 92. We lost a great mentor, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Oscar Covos was born on March 2, 1930, in Presidio, TX to father Miguel Covos and Mother Paula Vargas. He married the love of his life Evangelina Mendoza, and they were blessed with six children. Oscar's greatest accomplishment was raising his family. He loved each one of his children unconditionally. Dad had a special devotion for his Catholic faith, and he honored Our Lady of Guadalupe. His overall favorites were the Atlanta Braves baseball team, and his orange slice gummies. He also had a unique love for animals. We would often tease him that he had an "Old McDonalds Farm". His pastimes were dancing and playing poker. Our dad was courageous and had an incredible sense of humor.
Oscar is preceded in death by his parents Miguel Covos and Paula Vargas, his beautiful wife Evangelina Mendoza, son Adan Covos, daughter Marta Hernandez, brothers Lucio Covos, Salvador Covos, and sister Hortencia Sanchez.
Oscar is survived by his children: Manuel (Olivia) Covos, Oscar (Armida) Covos, Luis (Gloria) Covos, Norma (Rene) Molinar, daughter in law Irene (+Adan) Covos all reside in Presidio, TX, brothers Ervey Covos, and Edmundo Covos both reside in Odessa, TX, he was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 15 great great grandchildren.
