Obituary

Materson D. Turman 72, of Fort Stockton, passed away on Friday, June 14th, 2024, in Tomball, Texas surrounded by his family.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024, from 12pm to 8pm at Eternity Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10am on Thursday, June 20th, 2024, at Eternity Funeral Home. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Eternity Funeral Home.

Matt was born in Del Rio to J.M. & Bernice Turman on July 5,1951. He went to school at Fort Stockton High School. He married Deborah (Debbie) Ann Hardy on October 24, 1975, in Fort Stockton. He worked as a Gas Plant Operator for various companies for 50+ years. He was a Vietnam Era Veteran and served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt and was awarded National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation and achieved the Rank of Airman.

Matt is preceded in death by his wife Debbie and his parents.

Matt is survived by his son Thomas and son in law JJ, son, Joey, his brothers Ed and Herby, his sisters Edna, Susie, and Janie and numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Archie Bunker.

Pallbearers to carry Mr. Materson will be Gilbert Mesa, Paul Fierro, Herbert Turman, Kenneth Turman, Hagen Turman and Bradley Upchurch.

The family of Matt wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Aiesha Turner, Dr. Samir Suki and the staff at Millennium Oncology group, Dr James Rinkle and staff at Rinkle Institute of Wellness, Millennium Hospice Care of the Woodlands for the excellent care.
