Mary Frances Villarreal, 66 of Sanderson,Texas passed away on August 14, 2026 in her daughter’s home in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m at St. James Catholic Church in Sanderson

Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Sanderson

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. also at St. James Catholic Church in Sanderson,Texas followed by Funeral at Santa Rita Cemetery, in Sanderson, Texas at 12 p.m. Arrangements are by Eternity Funeral Home on Ft. Stockton, Texas.

Mary Frances was born March 17, 1960, in Seguin,Texas, to Cutberto Gonzalez & Louisa Calzada- Gonzalez.

She graduated from Sanderson High School in 1978. After graduating she moved to Alpine, Texas to attend Sul Ross State University.

While attending Sul Ross State University, she met and married George Villarreal in Del Rio, Texas at St. Joseph Catholic Church on July 27, 1984. They lived in Del Rio, Texas and then they moved to Laguna Vista, Texas.

Mary Frances worked for the U.S Postal Service in Sanderson, Texas & Brownsville, Texas for a total of 5 years. She then went on to work for Aramark in Port Isabel, Texas as an Administrative Secretary for 20 years, where she retired.

In 2005, she left to Sanderson,Texas to take care of her aging parents Cutberto & Louisa Gonzalez, during that time she found out she had Metastatic Breast Cancer Stage 4, where she spent many years going to and from MD Anderson in Houston, Texas.

Mary Frances was truly an Angel on Earth. She was a kind, compassionate, selfless, forgiving person, who only saw the good in people. She cared for her father and then for her mother for 21 consecutive years, even while she was battling cancer. Every time she drove somewhere with her mother, she would help her mother get into the car, buckle her, and would then bless her and do the Sign of the Cross on her. … every single time. Frances never fought back or defended herself, even when it would have been justified to anyone else. She would always say, “You never know what kind of day he or she is having or what is going on in his or her life.” Frances was a member of Saint James Catholic Church and a Guadalupana. Her faith was strong and unwavering. She prayed everyday and would pray for others. When she was given her Last Rites, instead of praying for herself, she prayed for her immediate and extended family and for her friends, naming each person by name. She asked God to take care of all of us that she left behind and to bless us with health and happiness She even prayed for all the animals in the world. Her kindness was beyond measure.

Mary Frances is preceded in death by her Dad, Cutberto Gonzalez, Paternal & Maternal Grandparents Jesus (Papa Chuy) & Francisca ( Mama Panchita) Calzada followed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Mary Frances is survived by her husband George Villarreal, her children and spouses, Homar & Christine Venecia, and Sergio & Catherine Perez. Her siblings & spouses Cutberto “Buddy” Gonzalez & Patty Gonzalez, and David & Patricia Casias. Her Beautiful Mother Louisa Gonzalez. And all her Beautiful Grandchildren that she loved and adored

Paul Cloud, Painted Luneth, Leila Ryan, Sergio Rigoberto,Pace,Luke, Cambria, and Laszlo.

Pallbearers will be George, Homar, Paul, Paul Jr., Sergio, Rigo.

The family of Mary Frances Villarreal wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her Drs. & Nurses at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas & at United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas. Avir Rehab in Wichita Falls, Texas & The whole Team at Alpha Omega Hospice especially her nurse, Amber and to Sacred Heart Catholic Church who came and provided last rites, confessionals, and the body of Christ to her daughter’s home.

Thank you to everyone who has played a role in my Mom’s journey. Whether you drove her to appointments, visited her while in the hospital or rehab, if you helped financially in anyway, and prayed for my Mother. I appreciate you all more than you can imagine.
