Maria Elena Lujan, 91, of El Mulato, Chihuahua, Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, in her home in Monahans, TX.

Viewing will be 12 PM to 9 PM, Friday, June 26, 2026, at Monahans Community Church with a service of remembrance at 7 PM lead by Pastor Larry Jasso.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Monahans Community Church with Pastor Blanca Polanco of Jesus King of Kings, officiating. Arrangements are by Eternity Funeral Home.

Maria was born in El Mulato, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Amada and Reyes Ramos on August 18, 1934. She married Omar Lujan, and they were together for many loving years. Maria was a homemaker, cleaning homes and taking care of her family.

Maria, who was known as Wela Elena to her grandkids, was not someone who expressed herself through many hugs or sentimental words. She wasn't particularly touchy-feely, and she didn't always show her emotions openly. But those who knew her understood that love can take many forms.

She was a collector of photographs, figurines, and the small treasures that caught her eye over the years. Each item she kept told a story. The photographs preserved moments that mattered to her, the figurines reflected her interests and personality, and the collections she built became a reflection of her life itself.

She had a way of holding onto memories, even if she didn't always speak about them. Through the pictures she saved and the things she cherished, she showed us what was important to her: family, moments in time, and the people who shared her journey.

Like all of us, she was not perfect. She was independent, strong-willed, and lived life according to who she was. Those qualities helped shape the family around her and made her unforgettable.

We say goodbye not only to a mother, mother-in-law, Wela, sister, and aunt, but to a woman whose presence will continue to live on in the memories she preserved and the collections she lovingly gathered throughout her life.

As we look through her photographs and see the treasures she collected, we are reminded that every object held meaning, every picture captured a moment, and every memory remains a part of us.

Though she may not have always expressed her feelings in obvious ways, her life left its own lasting imprint on those who knew her. We will remember her in the stories we share, the photographs we revisit, and the memories that continue to connect us.

May she rest in peace as we move forward cherishing her memory. She will be missed and remembered always.

Maria is preceded in death by her son Luis Cuauhtemoc Ibarra, grandson Victor Ibarra Jr. and husband Omar Samaniego Lujan.

Maria leaves her Son, Victor Manuel Ibarra of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, Daughter-in-Law, Rachel Ibarra of Ft. Worth, Texas, Son, Oswaldo R. Luján and spouse Ysenia of Monahans, Tx, Son, Omar R. Luján Jr. and spouse Sonia of Odessa, Tx.

Grandkids; Maria Victoria Ibarra, Yesenia Hernandez, Jesus Manuel Ibarra, Anna Maria and husband Temo Armenta, Isabel and husband Omar Varela, Jose Luis Ibarra and wife Nancy, Stacie Ibarra and spouse Jacqueline Chavez, Sasha Mireya and husband Brandon Meneses, Oswald A. Luján Jr., Omega Luján, Iris Syana Luján, Omar B. Luján III, Oswald B. Luján and Jasmyn Nevaeh.
