Manuel "Butch" Maldonado, Jr. 60, of Sanderson, passed away on August 23, 2024, in Lubbock, Texas.
Visitation will be at 9:00 am on Thursday, August 29, 2024, followed by rosary at 10 at the Hgh School Auditorium in Sanderson, Texas. Mass will be held at 11 am. Burial will follow at Santa Rita Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Eternity Funeral Home.
He was born January 21, 1964, to Manuel and Consuelo Maldonado. He graduated from Sanderson High School in 1982. He had various positions throughout his life from Texaco, Bill's Superette, Texas Highway Department in Midland/Odessa. After which he ran a fruit and vegetable stand in Sanderson. He then took a different path and went to lay fiber lines throughout the United States. He came back and went back to school to be a paramedic at Odessa College. He was a paramedic for Terrell County for several years. Then became primary caregiver for his parents until the time of his death
Butch was very outdoors, loved hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley, but most of all, he was a selfless man. He was the family doctor, caregiver and a devoted paramedic to the families of Sanderson. Always thinking of everyone before himself and honoring his parents with all he had.
He is preceded in death by an older brother that passed away in 1962, both maternal grandparents Jose and Tomasa Rivera, and paternal grandparents Jose and Gregoria Maldonado. His aunts Leonore Rivera, Estella Flores, Rosa Escamilla, and Uncle Ruben Rivera. On his paternal side his aunts Luisa Rodriguez, Delfina Vianes, Marianna Esquivel. His paternal uncles Lorenzo Maldonado, Valentine Maldonado, Agustin Maldonado, and Jose Maldonado, Jr.
He is survived by his parents, sister Nora Escamilla, and brother Ricky Maldonado. His nephew Rene Escamilla, Jr. and nieces Daniela Escamilla and Micaela Maldonado. His great nephew Abel Rodriguez, and great niece Romy Rodriguez.
Pallbearers will be Rene Escamilla, Jr., Augie Maldonado, Jr., Luis Garza, Joe Victor Maldonado, Joe Rivera, Robert Rivera, Johnny Rivera, and Richard Montalvo.
The family of Butch wishes to extend our sincere thanks to local EMTs, Fort Stockton Emergency Medical Staff, and all ICU staff at Covenant Medical Center.
