Manuel A. Maldonado Sr., of Sanderson, Tx., went to be with the Lord on Sunday July 27, 2025, at the age of 94.
Visitation will by 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, August 4th, 2025, with rosary recited at 10:00 AM, at Saint James Catholic Church in Sanderson, Texas.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 4th, 2025, at Saint James Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Santa Rita Cemetery in Sanderson, Texas. Arrangements are entrusted to Eternity Funeral Home of Fort Stockton, Texas.
Manuel A. Maldonado Sr. was born in Sanderson, Tx to Jose and Gregoria Maldonado on February 21st, 1931. Manuel left high school early and joined the United States Air Force to help support his siblings and parents. The Air Force sent him to many different places in the US as well as a deployment to Libya, Africa for 2 years. Upon returning to Texas, he met his loving wife of 65 years, Consuelo Rivera Maldonado, having four children together. After serving 20 years in the military, Manuel retired and moved back to his beloved hometown, Sanderson. There he worked for Terrell County ISD, as head maintenance for an additional twenty -five years. Manuel stayed very dedicated to his community and to his religious beliefs. He was an devote Catholic and member of Saint James Catholic Church. He was a well-known "Mr. Fix-It". He was always available to aid in any way needed of him. You could always find him tinkering with something in his shed or doodling out construction plans in his notebooks. Above all his acts of service he was a man who loved his family and simply being around them.
Manuel A. Maldonado Sr. is preceded in death by his newborn infant child and, son Manuel R. Maldonado Jr. (Butch). Parents, Jose and Gregoria Maldonado. Siblings, Louisa Rodriguez, Mariana Esquivel, Delfina Vianes, Valentine Maldonado, Lorenzo Maldonado, Jose Maldonado Jr., and Augustine Maldonado.
Manuel A. Maldonado Sr. is survived by his wife Consuelo Rivera Maldonado. Children, Nora M. Escamilla, and Ricardo R. Maldonado. Grandchildren, Rene Escamilla Jr., Daniela Escamilla, and Micaela Maldonado. Great-Grandchildren, Abel Rodriguez and Romy Rodriguez.
Pallbearers will be Rene Escamilla Jr., Joe Victor Maldonado, Augie Maldonado Jr., Johnny Rivera, Luis Garza, and Rene Rubio.
The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to Terrell County EMS, Pecos County Memorial Hospital staff and Medical Center Hospital staff.
