Lucio V. Covos, 89, of Presidio, TX, reunited with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 4, 2021, in Presidio, TX.

Rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Santa Teresa de Jesus Catholic Church in Presidio, TX with memorial mass to follow with Father Mike Alcuino, officiating. Burial of cremated remains to follow at Desert Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Eternity Funeral Home.

Lucio V. Covos was born in Presidio, TX to Miguel Covos and Paula Vargas on December 13, 1931. He attended school in Presidio, TX until the 8th grade. He married the love of his life Juana Mendoza on May 16, 1951, in Presidio, TX. He worked with Big Bend National Park for many years as Trail Maintenance and Recreation. He later transitioned and was employed by International Boundary and Water Commission as a Maintenance Technician. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Army. Lucio was very proud to be an American! He was a devout parishioner of Santa Teresa de Jesus Catholic Church and participated with the Cursillo. He will be remembered by his loved ones for his courageous guidance, his amazing and charismatic sense of humor and stories, his devotion to his faith, family, and his determination of a life well lived! He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.

Lucio is preceded in death by his parents, Miguel Covos and Paula Vargas, Brother, Salvador Covos, Sister, Hortencia Sanchez, and Son in Law, Juan Magallanes.

Lucio is survived by his lovely wife, Juana Covos, children: Maria Teresa (Jose) Leyva, Hilda C. Magallanes, Alfredo (Socorro) Covos, Daniel (Karime) Covos, Gloria (Alberto) Hernandez, and Marisela (Mario) Holguin, brothers: Ervey Covos, Edmundo Covos, Oscar Covos, 15 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.
