Lucas G. Acosta of Fort Stockton, Texas passed away on January 20, 2026, surrounded by the love and presence of his family. His departure leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who knew him, yet his life remains a testament to devotion, perseverance, and quiet strength.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the service beginning at 2 p.m. with Pastor Scott Owens of Northside Church officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Eternity Funeral Home.

Lucas was born on March 2, 1964, in Santa Elena, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Eualalio Acosta and Francisca Galindo. He was raised in Fort Stockton, where he attended school and built a life rooted in family, faith, and hard work. On June 4, 1983, he married Linda Subia, beginning a partnership marked by unwavering commitment and deep affection.

For 30 years, Lucas worked as an oilfield pumper for Sandridge/Oxy, a career that reflected his dedication and strong work ethic.

Beyond his profession, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life—playing disc golf, watching sports of all kinds, and relaxing with his favorite Netflix and YouTube episodes.

In 2024, he proudly earned an Associate's Degree in Theology from West Texas Bible College, a milestone that spoke to his faith and desire for spiritual growth.

Lucas is survived by his devoted wife, Linda, and their sons, Lucas Jr. and Louis, all of Fort Stockton. He is also survived by his siblings: Gloria Gamboa, Chain Acosta, Chelo Madrid (Sonny), Irma Acosta, Elsa Benavidez, Adan Acosta (Abelia), Lalo Acosta (Yolanda), Delma Sanchez (Elias), Angel Acosta (Cassandra), and Beto Galindo (Magda). His beloved fur babies, Ranger and Lola, were constant companions who brought him comfort and joy. A host of numerous nieces and nephews. His sister in laws and families: Mary Ann Subia (Joe Darrell, Katheryn, Isabella), Diana Primos (Aleesha and Derek), Roxanne Subia (Tanisha, Kwamee, Isaiah), Brandie Ramirez (Sergio and AJ "Big Head")

Pallbearers will be Avelino Ramirez, Ruben Garcia, Jonathan Galindo, Beto Galindo, Angel Acosta, and Lalo Acosta.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Scott and Amey Owens, the Northside Church members, FS EMS, Aerovac, Midland Memorial Hospital, Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Interim Hospice Healthcare, Misty Franco and Krysha, Nancy and Kacee with Eternity Funeral Home, and the FS Fire Department. They also wish to thank all family and friends for the overwhelming support, prayers, and kindness shown during this difficult time.

Lucas will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his loyalty to those he loved, and the quiet but powerful way he touched the lives around him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, his friends, and all who were blessed to share in his journey.
