Juan Mesa Morales, age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on Friday, September 10, 2021. He graduated from Fort Stockton High School and married his sweetheart, Elida Aguilera. He is a man of many talents, a Renaissance man, he worked with wood, transforming ordinary pieces of wood into beautiful works of art. As a carpenter, he remodeled and expanded his childhood home so that his young and growing family would have a place to call home, and most of all, we know him as talented musician. He truly loved playing his guitar and dedicated over fifty years of music ministry to the Fort Stockton community.
He is survived by his wife, Elida Aguilera Morales; daughters, Maria Elsa Larez and companion Guadalupe Lujan, Martha Franks, and Rachael Morales; sons, Jaime Morales, Javier Morales, John Patrick Morales and wife Nancy Morales, and Manuel Morales; and eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Genovevo and Petra Morales; brother, Alberto Morales; sister Petra Ramirez; and great-grandson Isaiah Trey Mesa Morales.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow immediately thereafter at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation is open to the public from 9:00 am – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Eternity Funeral home with the Rosary starting at 7:00 pm. Arrangements are under the care of Eternity Funeral Home.
