Jose Rodrigo Lane, 50, of Lovington, NM, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022, in Lubbock, TX.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at the Large Community Hall in Fort Stockton, TX with the Rosary beginning at 11:00 am and a memorial sharing to follow with the sharing of a meal immediately after.

Jose Rodrigo Lane was born in Fort Stockton, TX to Charlene Jo Lane and Rodrigo Flores on October 27, 1971. He Attended School in Fort Stockton until the family relocated. His life journey took him to live in many places finally settling down in Lovington, NM where he called home. When he was young, he worked fast food and services like Zetners Steak house and Exxon mobile. Then when old enough he worked in the oil field with FWA Drilling, Paterson, UTI Graco fishing services, until he began fabricating for the oil field and going into welding for himself. Sometimes he would help his brother at Lane Drilling and Consultations.

Jose was known by many names. We in the family know him as Jojo, to His children as dad, to his grand kids as Poncho, Uncle Jojo, or to his friends just as "LANE". He was a friend to all he met and was not afraid to get down and dirty to help anyone especially someone that was down on their luck. He didn't have much but was willing to share what he did have. And if he couldn't help in some way, he would sure find someone who could. If he couldn't get to you right away, he would get there as soon as he could. He loved being with his children and was raising his 2 youngest alone so he had his routine set going around and stopping to talk to those he knew. He was helping coach baseball for his kids. He looked forward to visiting family in Fort Stockton especially his Apa (Grandfather) Juan. They would drive around town visiting old friends and checking out the new sites in town. He would take his kids to play with lots of their cousins at Amalia's house while he helped her fix project that she had started but had trouble finishing. On occasion he would meet up with family from Eagle Pass while in Fort Stockton and would cook out and spend time catching up. Always making you laugh and smile. He was a gentle giant. When he would travel to visit family in Mexico everyone was always so excited to hang out when he was there.

Jojo's motto in life was to work hard but don't let work take over your life. Make sure you spend time with family because family is most important. Enjoy the small things in life. His boys said that the most important lesson in life that he taught them was that "Everything will be alright; it is what it is; and You just have to keep on going!"

Jose is preceded in death by his father Rodrigo Flores, and his Nephew James Gerald Lane.

Jose is survived by children, Thomas "TJ" Lane of Midland, TX, Daniel "Danny" Lane (Macey), Hobbs, NM, Bryce Lane, Lovington, NM and Adamires Lane, Lovington , NM; sister Terry Lane (Prissy), Fort Stockton, TX, bother Fabian Lane (Shelly), Midland, TX, sister Yvette Flores (Valentin), Lovington, NM, brother Adonis (Doni) Lane (Rose), Midland, TX, Mother Charlene Jo Lane, Midland ,TX, his APA (Grandfather) Juan Garcia of Fort Stockton, TX, grandchildren: Emmalynn Jade Lane, Sutton Tracie Lane, and Bootsie Bell Lane. Also, his children and grandchildren who he helped raise and was there for them just as much as his own. Numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, as well as those who were not blood but still family.
