John was born in Rapid City, SD, on March 31, 1964. The family moved to Burnsville, MN, in 1965 and John grew up there. He graduated from Burnsville High School in 1982. He passed away unexpectedly in Fort Stockton, TX, on September 26, 2022. John had a passion for the outdoors, especially the desert. He had a strong love for animals, from childhood through adulthood. Above all, it was important to John to stay connected to family. After high school, he worked in the trucking industry, locally and nationwide. He was currently employed by Kiewit Corporation in NW Texas. He was at work at the time of his death.

John was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Pritchard, and his grandparents, George and Dora Pritchard, and Boyd and Mary Thomas.

He is survived by his mother Janet Pritchard, siblings David (Liz) Pritchard, and Mary (Marc) Hughes, along with his nieces Jenna (Tom) Bowman, Libby (Joe) Stanton, and Addie Hughes, nephew Jaxon Hughes, grandniece Everly Jones, aunt and uncle Mary and Jim Weed, cousins, and many close friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date this fall.

Donations may be made to the Humane Society or a favorite choice.
