Jesus G
Alcala
Oct 15, 1928 — Sep 6, 2021
Jesus G. Alcala of Fort Stockton, Texas, reunited with his Lord and Savior on September 6, 2021, at the age of 92. Affectionately known as "Chuy" to his friends, he was a gifted storyteller and never hesitated to bestow a personal blessing on anyone who crossed his path. The loves of his life were, in order, his God, his family, his animals, and his cookies and chocolate.
Jesus G. Alcala was born in Nueva Rosita, Mexico, to Matias Alcala and Felipa Gallegos on October 15, 1928. Jesus came to the United States as a young man in order to pursue a better life for his children and his wife, Ciria Alcala. Jesus worked various jobs on assorted ranches and farms in the Fort Stockton area for decades, always displaying the hardworking mentality which would come to characterize his entire life. Although he never had any formal schooling, he taught himself to read and write, ultimately obtaining his United States citizenship. His legacy is one of perseverance, dedication, and diligence, both to his occupation and his family. Those same qualities can readily be observed in his children and grandchildren.
Jesus G. Alcala is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ciria Alcala, and his children- Anastacio Alcala (wife- Abby Alcala), Manuel Alcala, Maria Arcides, Elizabeth Alcala, and Sergio Alcala (spouse- Diane Alcala). His legacy includes five wonderful and successful grandchildren- Adelina Wofford, Lilly Ayozie, Erica Arcides, Monica Gonzales, and John Alcala. He is also survived by eight loving great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by three of his children, both of his parents, and all of his siblings.
Public viewing and visitation is scheduled for Sunday, September 12, 2021, from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Eternity Funeral Home, 600 E. Dickinson Blvd., Fort Stockton, Texas. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 13, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at Templo Triunfo De La Fe, 606 N. Colpitts St., Fort Stockton, Texas, with burial services to immediately follow at East Hill Cemetery.
The Alcala Family wishes to extend its most sincere thanks and gratitude to Fort Stockton Home Hospice and all nurses and doctors who provided such wonderful, loving care to Mr. Alcala. He loved each and every one of you, and we are forever indebted to you all.
