Hilario Castaneda, 90 years old, of Mezquite, Jalisco, passed away on December 18, 2022, in Coyanosa, Texas.
Rosary will be at 7 pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at the Large Community Building in Coyanosa.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at St. Isidore Catholic Church with Father Timothy Hayter officiating. Burial will follow at the Castaneda Cemetery. Arrangements are made by Eternity Funeral Home.
Hilario was born in Mezquite, Jalisco to Liandro and Felipa Castaneda on October 30, 1932. He married Maria Gamboa Castaneda on December 28, 1963, in Coyanosa, Texas. He worked as a Rancher/Farmer for many years. Mr. C as they would call him never wanted to stop working. He planted a few watermelons, cantaloupes, and those famous chili peppers up to this year. He also has most of his beloved cows because he didn't know what the word retirement meant. Hilario will be missed by all his family and will be remembered as he was a hard worker, strict, but firm father, and loving grandfather.
Hilario is preceded in death by his parents Liandro and Felipa Castaneda, 3 brothers Hipolito Castaneda, Emiterio Castaneda, and Primitivo Castaneda, 2 sisters Lupita Castaneda, and Maria Belen Castaneda, and son in law Demetrius Tate.
Hilario is survived by his beloved wife Maria Castaneda. His children Victor Castaneda and Wife Delma, Corina Pando, Mahalia Ruiz and Husband Jesus, Aurora Castaneda, Raquel Camacho, and Husband Samuel, Paula Tate, Liandro Castaneda, and Fabian Castaneda. His brothers David Castaneda, Francisco Castaneda, and Arturo Castaneda. His sisters Rosa Castaneda and Gracia Castaneda. He and Maria have a total of 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Hector Ruiz, Jesus C. Ruiz IV, Liandro Castaneda Jr., Mundo Dominguez, Samuel Camacho Jr., Victor Castaneda Jr., Ramiro Pando Jr., and Demetrius Tate Jr.
The family of Hilario Castaneda wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Father Timothy Hayter for officiating and to Eternity Funeral Home for their services during this time. The family would also like to thank Pecos County Memorial Hospital Hospice for the wonderful care they provided as well as St. Isidore's Catholic church.
