Blasa C. Castro Gamboa, 91 of Ft. Stockton, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 in her

home surrounded by her loved ones.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 19, from 9am-8pm with Rosary at 7pm at Eternity

Funeral Home in Ft. Stockton, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at 10am on Wednesday, October 19 at St. Joseph's Catholic

Church in Ft. Stockton, Texas. Burial will follow at 3pm at Rankin Cemetery in Rankin, Texas.

Arrangements are by Eternity Funeral Home in Ft. Stockton, Texas.

Blasa, or Blasita, as many affectionately called her, was born in Santa Elena, Chihuahua,

Mexico to Sixto Silvas and Eustolia Garcia on March 3, 1930. She married Manuel Gamboa

on January 25, 1965 in San Carlos Manuel Benavides, Chihuahua, Mexico and had 10

children. Blasita worked as a homemaker. After the death of her husband, she and her

children moved to the United States. She lived in Florida for a short period, but lived the

majority of her life in Denver City, Iraan, and San Angelo, Texas, alongside her children.

Becoming a U.S. Citizen was something that Blasita had always dreamed about. At the age of

87, that dream came to fruition.

Blasita was known for always being a hard worker and she instilled a hard work ethic into each

of her children. Everyone loved her cooking, especially her tamales and empanadas. She

loved to go to the Bingo, to play Loteria with her family and loved to be surprised with scratch

off tickets. She also enjoyed gardening and loved any conversation over a good cup of

cafecito. She loved people and took joy in sharing her cooking with others, but most of all she

loved her family, her children, and her grandchildren. Blasita took so much pride in her

children and grandchildren. She was a woman of faith, a very selfless person and had a heart

of gold. She was a giver. Blasita was the matriarch of the family and her family adored her.

The contributions that she made to her family and love that she gave will never be forgotten.

She will be greatly missed.

Blasita is preceded in death by her parents, Sixto Silvas and Eustolia Garcia, her husband

Manuel Gamboa, her son Manuel Gamboa Jr., three grandchildren, Ruben Gamboa Jr., Joel

Gamboa, Esteban Gamboa, and all of her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her first born, Elizabeth Daniels of Odessa; her son Juan Gamboa and wife

Irma of Crane, TX; daughter Magdalena Garcia of Rankin, TX; son Ruben Gamboa and wife

Lupe of Ft. Stockton, TX; daughter Hilda Gamboa of Wichita, Kansas; daughter Luciana

Velasquez and husband Jimmy of Ft. Stockton, TX; son Jesus Gamboa and wife Carolina of

Ft. Stockton, TX; daughter Maria McGinnis and husband Michael of San Angelo, TX; son

Samuel Gamboa and wife Lynn of Decatur, TX; son Rigo Ceniceros and wife Ester of Odessa,

TX; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ivey Espinosa, Ernest Chavez, Jimmy Velasquez Jr., Daniel Gamboa, Isael

Gamboa, Omar Gamboa, Noa Ceniceros, and Carlos Garcia.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Xaviar Tellez, Nicolas Tellez, Justin Garcia, Justin Gamboa,

Damian Villarreal, Derick Villarreal, Miguel Garcia, and Evan Medina.

Hospice, friend Maria Pacheco, Pastor Efrain and Ramona Mendoza and Armida Gonzales of

Alpha y Omega Church, and family and friends for the countless prayers, phone calls, food,

and support during this difficult time

Blasa, o Blasita, como muchos la llamaban cariñosamente, nació en Santa Elena, Chihuahua,

México a Sixto Silvas y Eustolia García el 3 de marzo de 1930. Se casó con Manuel Gamboa

el 25 de enero de 1965 en San Carlos Manuel Benavides, Chihuahua, México y tuvo diez

hijos. Blasita trabajaba como ama de casa. Después de la muerte de su esposo, ella y sus

hijos se mudaron a los Estados Unidos. Vivió en Florida por un período corto, pero vivió la

mayor parte de su vida en Denver City, Iraan, y San Angelo, Texas, junto a sus hijos.

Convertirse en ciudadana estadounidense era algo con lo que Blasita siempre había soñado.

A la edad de 87 años, ese sueño fue realizado.

Blasita fue conocida por ser siempre una trabajadora e inculcó una ética de trabajo duro en

cada uno de sus hijos. A todos les encantaba su cocina, especialmente sus tamales y

empanadas. Le encantaba ir al bingo, jugar a la lotería con su familia y le encantaba que la

sorprendieran con los tiquetes para raspar. También le gustaba la jardinería y le encantaba

cualquier conversación sobre una buena taza de cafecito. Amaba a la gente y disfrutaba

compartir su cocina con los demás, pero sobre todo amaba a su familia, a sus hijos, y a sus

nietos. Blasita se enorgullecía mucho de sus hijos y nietos. Ella era una mujer de fe, una

persona muy altruista y tenía un corazón de oro. Ella era una persona que daba todo por los

demás. Blasita era la matriarca de la familia y su familia la adoraba. Las contribuciones que

hizo a su familia y el amor que dio nunca serán olvidadas. Será extrañada muchísimo.

Blasita es precedida en la muerte por sus padres, Sixto Silvas y Eustolia García, su esposo

Manuel Gamboa, su hijo Manuel Gamboa Jr., tres nietos, Rubén Gamboa Jr., Joel Gamboa,

Esteban Gamboa, y todos sus hermanos y hermanas.

Le sobreviven su primogénita, Elizabeth Daniels de Odessa, TX; su hijo Juan Gamboa y su

esposa Irma de Crane, TX; su hija Magdalena García de Rankin,TX; su hijo Ruben Gamboa y

su esposa Lupe de Ft. Stockton, TX; hija Hilda Gamboa de Wichita, Kansas; hija Luciana

Velásquez y esposo Jimmy de Ft. Stockton, TX; su hijo Jesus Gamboa y su esposa Carolina

de Ft. Stockton, TX; hija Maria McGinnis y esposo Michael de San Angelo, TX; hijo Samuel

Gamboa y esposa Lynn de Decatur, TX; hijo Rigo Ceniceros y esposa Ester de Odessa, TX; y

numerosos nietos, bisnietos y tataranietos.
