Belinda Monclova Abbate passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on November 13, 1964, in Alpine, Texas, Belinda resided in Houston until her untimely passing.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Charles Abbate; daughter Amanda Rodriguez and her husband, Anthony, and their children, Roman, Oliver, and Ellie; son Paul Rodgers and his wife, Melissa, and their twin girls, Raiden and Raine; bonus daughter Tina Rodgers; siblings Guy Monclova and his wife, Pamela; Randy Monclova and his wife, Jessica; and Corina Marquez; sisters-in-law Paulette DiLeo and her husband, Bladge; Trish Powell and her husband, Rick; Beatrice Nentwig and her husband, Glen; brother-in-law Marty Rodgers and his wife, Laura; sister-in-law Pam Rodgers; brother-in-law Mike Rodgers and his wife, Michele; along with many beloved nieces and nephews, friends and coworkers.

She is reunited in Heaven with her parents, Pablo and Julia Monclova; grandmother, Teresa Portillo; younger brother, Rodolfo Monclova; treasured brother-in-law, Terry Rodgers; and her sweet pups, Shorty, Red, and Harlee.

Although Belinda never had the opportunity to meet her in-laws, Anthony “Tony” and Mary Abbate, during her time here, we imagine Heaven gave her the beautiful gift of meeting them at last.

Belinda loved spending time in her yard, cheering for the Astros and Texans, playing bingo and cards, camping, riding motorcycles with Charles, listening to ’80s music, eating crawfish, and spending time with her family and dogs, Penny, Koko & Summer. But above all, Belinda’s greatest passion was spending time with her five grandchildren.

Belinda grew up and attended school in Alpine, Texas, and attended Sul Ross State University for two years. In the late 1980s, she moved to Houston, briefly worked for Cy-Fair ISD and later worked for Baker Hughes for more than 17 years. She ultimately returned to Cy-Fair, joining Cy Lakes High School in the SPED department, where she worked for the last 10 years. Belinda took great pride in her role and treasured her coworkers and the time her schedule allowed her to spend with her grandchildren.

Belinda will be remembered for her kindness, infectious laugh, beautiful smile, and unwavering devotion to her family. Thoughtfulness was at the core of everything she did, including her final act on this Earth. Belinda’s wish was to be an organ donor, and she left this world a hero, saving the lives of three people: two women, ages 58 and 64, and a 68-year-old father and grandfather who was a friend of a family friend.
