Obituary

Arturo Rodriguez Gonzalez Sr., 79 of Fort Stockton, Texas passed away peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2023, in Fort Stockton, Texas.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 24, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Eternity Funeral Home. Recitation of the rosary will be on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 7:00 pm at Eternity Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish-St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Francis Njoku officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Eternity Funeral Home.

Arturo was born on November 11, 1943, in Fort Stockton, Texas to Andres Tarango Gonzales and Antonia Rodriguez. He attended school in Fort Stockton, Texas. Arturo married his sweet love Adela Dominguez on April 19, 1962, in Fort Stockton, Texas. He worked and retired in retail. Everyone knew and will remember him as the friendly butcher with the mustache at Safeway! After his retirement he spent time enjoying his hobby with woodworking ranging from detailed indoor and outdoor furniture to crosses and frames which are in many homes and yards in Fort Stockton as well as surrounding towns.

Arturo is preceded in death by his older brother Daniel Gonzales, his loving parents Andres and Antonia Gonzales, his sister Carmen Garcia, and the love of his life Adela Gonzales.

Arturo is survived by his loving children Arturo (Yvonne) Gonzales Jr., Amanda (Anthony) Fleenor, Rebecca Gonzalez, Angelica (Lalo Marquez) Gonzalez, and Ms. Tess Gonzales; brother Andres (Marisa) Gonzales; grandchildren Horacio (Carmen Reyes), Lechler Jr., Arturo (Gabby) Gonzales III, Alex (Caitlin) Chazarreta, Sierra (Justin McCasland) Gonzalez, Dakota Gonzalez, Antonio (Claudia) Gonzalez, Auxianna (Abel Baeza) Gonzalez, Diago (Taisha) Lara, Andria Lara, Abelardo Marquez Jr., Brandi (Adan) De La Rosa, Kaci (Frank Badilla) Bagrich, Jordan (Sabrina Williams) Bagrich; great grandchildren: Cyrus and Alina Chazarreta, Malikiah Gonzalez, Harper Diaz, Claudina, Nyla, Amina and Ariella Gonzalez, Landyn, Zaelynn, Xiomara and Josaul Baeza, Bryson, Caitlin and Cameron De La Rosa, Isaih and Ezekiel Badilla.

Pallbearers: Horacio (Rusty) Lechler Jr., Arturo (Trey) Gonzales III., Alejandro (Alex) Chazarreta, Dakota (Big Black) Gonzalez, Diago Lara, and Abelardo (Bubba) Marquez III. Honorary Pallbearers: Sierra Gonzalez, Auxianna (Shauna) Gonzalez, Andric Lara, Jordan Bagrich, and Jaxon Cantu.
