Alex Ontiveros Flores, 62, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on October 11, 2026, at Odessa Regional Medical Center.

Alex was born on August 28, 1964, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Crisencio and Frances (Ontiveros) Flores. On December 6, 1985, he married his high school sweetheart, Maria Alvarado (Cervantes) Flores. He was her soulmate and the love of her life.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Alex was the foundation and strength of his family. He was their protector, teacher, mentor, and place of comfort-taking on whatever role those he loved needed him to fill. He worked tirelessly and sacrificed throughout his life to provide for his family, extending that same generosity to anyone he could help. To his family, he was everything. His love will remain with them in the lessons he taught, the memories they cherish, and the lives he helped shape.

Alex is survived by his beloved wife, Maria; his children, Brandon Cervantez Flores, Rosalea "Anya" Leyva, and Christian Flores; his grandchildren, Sylus Leyva, Seibree Leyva, and Kason Leyva; and his siblings, Danny Flores, Linda Flores, Lisa Rubio and her husband, Demitrio, and Ricky Flores.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Crisencio Tucker and Frances (Ontiveros) Flores, and his sister, Dolores Robledo.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 4100 N. FM 1788, Midland, Texas, with a funeral service beginning at 5:00 PM.
An additional visitation will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Eternity Funeral Home, 600 E. Dickinson Blvd., Fort Stockton, Texas, with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery in Fort Stockton, Texas.
