Obituary

Alberto "Beto" Zuniga Melendez, 95, of Fort Stockton, TX passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 18, 2023.

Alberto was born to Epifanio Zuniga and Mariana Melendez on June 20, 1928, in Chihuahua, Mexico. He married the love of his life, Ursula Zuniga Ortiz and together they built their home. Alberto worked in the agriculture industry for most of his life. He was a cowboy at heart. Beto found great joy in spending time with his family. He had a sweet tooth for vanilla cookies and candies. Alberto will be remembered for his great stories, and his infectious sense of humor. Beto never met a stranger and was loved by us all!

Alberto is preceded in death by his wife Ursula Zuniga Ortiz, his parents, and his son Jesus Carlos Zuniga Ortiz.

Beto is survived by his children: Jose Alberto Zuniga Ortiz, Onofre Zuniga Ortiz, Jose Epifanio Zuniga Ortiz, Yolanda Zuniga Ortiz, Aurora Zuniga Ortiz, and Mariana Zuniga Ortiz, 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers: Jose Alberto Zuniga Ortiz, Onofre Zuniga Ortiz, Andy Rivera, Brian Rivera, Michael Rivera, and Elie Ortiz.

Visitation will take place at Eternity Funeral Home Chapel B. on Monday, November 20, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Service will be held at Eternity Funeral Home Chapel B. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with Elder Alejandro Ortega, officiating burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Eternity Funeral Home.

The Family of Alberto Zuniga Melendez would like to give our sincere thanks to all the family and friends for the care, kind words, and support throughout this difficult time. We would also like to give our upmost sincere appreciation to Dr. Rachelle Young, and the Pecos County Memorial Hospital Home Hospice Team.
